Downloading a map

Downloading a map before you set off will allow you to access it even when you are outdoors and potentially without a network connection! This should be done in a place where you have a good internet connection, ideally at home and before you set off.

To download a map on the mobile app

  1. Open the app and tap Menu in the top left corner
  2. Tap Location/Map
  3. Now tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Download map
  4. Place the area you wish to download in the blue box, then tap the green Download button. The areas in the black boxes are those that have already been downloaded
  5. Select the base maps you wish to download by ticking the corresponding boxes. You can also name the downloaded area if you wish. Once you have made your selection, tap the green Save or Download button

To view your downloads on the mobile app

You can view all your downloads in two different ways:

  1. Go to Menu > Location/Map
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Tap Offline routes & maps
  4. Tap the Maps tab

OR

  • Go to Menu > My routes. The folder named Offline routes contains all your downloads.

Regardless of the way, you will arrive at a screen with two separate tabs: Routes and Maps.
