Uploading or downloading a GPX file
A GPX file contains a list of precise GPS locations, which follow one another to form a track. In short, the GPX file contains the track of a route. You can download the GPX file of your own routes or a Visorando route, in order to upload it into a smartwatch or hiking GPS, for example.
📱On the mobile app
To upload a GPX file:
- Open the app and tap on the Menu in the top left corner
- Tap My routes
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner
- Tap Import a GPX file
- Select the file you want to upload and it will open on the app
You will find the uploaded route in Menu > My Routes after manual synchronisation. To do this, press the curled arrows at the top of the My Routes screen. Your route will appear in your routes list.
To download a GPX file:
- Access the route you are interested in
- Tap the + button in the bottom right corner
- Tap Download GPX file
Android: The file will be located in the Downloads folder on your device.
iOS: The file will be located in Files > On my iPhone > Visorando.

To upload a GPX file:
- Go to www.visorando.com/en/ and log in
- Click on the brown Tools tab
- Click on Import a GPX file
- Click on the button and select the file you want from your computer
- Click the green Upload button
Your file will appear in the route planner. You can then click the Save button.
Back in the mobile app: tap Menu in the top left corner, then My routes. Next, tap the curled arrows in the top right corner to synchronise your account. The route corresponding to the GPX file you just uploaded will appear first in the list. You can find this route at any time in My routes.
To download a GPX file:
- Go to www.visorando.com/en/ and log in
- Access the route you are interested in
- Start the download by clicking on the blue Download GPX button in the Details section
- You will find the GPX file on your computer in the Downloads folder
