Downloading a route
Downloading a route gives you access to all the information it contains: map, route, text details, reviews and photos, even when you are outdoors and potentially without a network connection!
This should be done in a place where you have a good Internet connection, ideally at home and before you set off.
The default downloaded base map is the topographic map (OS, IGN, etc.) if you are a subscriber, or the selected default map background in the app settings if you are not.
To download a route on the mobile app
- Access the route you are interested in
- Press the green Download button in the information panel
- Select the type of base map you wish to download by ticking the corresponding boxes
- Once you have made your selection, press the green Save or Confirm selection button
Once the download is complete and the window is closed, you will see that the Download button now has a green and white tick. This icon on the button lets you know whether or not a route map has been downloaded to your phone.
To view your downloads on the mobile app
You can view all your downloads in two different ways:
- Go to Menu > Location/Map
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen
- Tap Offline routes & maps
OR
- Go to Menu > My routes. The folder named Offline routes contains all your downloads.
Regardless of the way, you will arrive at a screen with two separate tabs: Routes and Maps.
