Publishing photos

Visorando is a community platform. By sharing your photos, you help inspire others, enrich route descriptions and keep the spirit of discovery alive.

Currently, photos can only be published via our website.

Accepted formats: jpg, jpeg, minimum 640 × 480 pixels, maximum 10 MB.

By publishing a photo, you confirm that you are the author and that you have the right to publish it on Visorando. You also certify that the photo was taken in compliance with local regulations, particularly regarding drones.

As a reminder, here are the main criteria a photo needs to comply with to be published:

  • Relevant to the route
  • Good quality: not blurry, well framed, well exposed
  • Its title is explicit and relevant to the photo
  • No similar photos for the same route (same viewpoint, same framing, etc.)
  • No identifiable people
  • No dates or any other superimposed texts
  • No photomontages
  • The photo does not have a border
  • It was not taken behind glass (reflections)
  • No reproductions of a work whose author died less than 70 years ago
  • Avoid photos of private property

To publish multiple photos:

  1. Go to the website and log in to your Visorando account
  2. Click on the Tools tab, then on Upload pictures
  3. Select the Upload multiple photos tab
  4. Click on Upload photos
  5. Your photos will now appear in the Photos to be validated section
  6. Click on a photo with a green tick in the centre to fill in the validation form for that photo. Enter a title and link the photo to a route. You can also write a description and locate the exact place where you took the photo from (not what's in the picture).
  7. Finish by clicking on Save at the bottom of the form
  8. Repeat from step 6 for all photos with a green tick in the centre

If a white cross appears on a red background on your photo, it means that it does not meet one of the following criteria: JPG or JPEG format, at least 640 × 480 pixels, maximum 10 MB.

To publish a single photo:

  1. Go to the website and log in to your Visorando account
  2. Click on the Tools tab, then on Upload pictures
  3. Select the Post a photo tab
  4. Click on the button and select your photo
  5. Enter a title and link the photo to a route. You can also write a description and locate the exact place where you took the photo from (not what's in the picture).
  6. Finish by clicking on Save at the bottom of the form

Your photos are now Awaiting publication, as they have been sent to the moderators for verification. As soon as they have checked your photos, you will receive an email informing you whether your photos have been accepted or rejected.
