Publishing a route on Visorando
Visorando is a collaborative tool that offers detailed, high-quality routes free of charge. All our routes are submitted by private individuals or professional authors and selected by a team of moderators who review and correct each entry before it is published. We therefore encourage you to submit your own routes so that they can be published and made available to as many people as possible!
The moderation team will be there to help and guide you through the process.
Routes can be published on the website or on the mobile application.
Please note that if you're looking to publish a route in France, this is currently only possible on the website.
Requirements
Before publishing your route, please make sure all of the following requirements are met:
- You are the author of the information you provide or have the explicit authorisation of the author to use their content. We pay close attention to copyright and therefore do not accept copies
- You must have completed the route you wish to publish to provide reliable and realistic information, and if possible, a detailed description
- Check that the route you wish to submit does not already exist on Visorando
- If you have not yet imported or created your route on Visorando, search for it on Visorando
- If your route is already on Visorando, access the route and check whether a banner indicating that a similar route already exists appears at the top of the page.
- Clean up the track by aligning it with paths on the map and removing any deviations, zigzags due to breaks, etc.
- Do not submit routes that require specific equipment: rope, harness, lanyard, carabiner, helmet, crampons, ice axes, etc. If equipment is simply recommended for certain sections, please specify this in the Notes section
- Do not submit routes that pass through private property where access is not permitted
- Do not submit routes that use paths where access is permanently prohibited by local authorities
- For multi-day routes:
- In case the first stage of your multi-day route starts in France, you will be required to provide a full turn-by-turn description of all stages, even those outside of France. If you have not already done so, you will get an email about completing the information of your routes.
- If the first stage starts outside of France, providing a turn-by-turn description won't be mandatory, even if your route goes through France. However, we encourage you to write one to help others to find their way around more easily.
If your route does not go against any of the above requirements, we suggest that you read our editorial guidelines and then get started right away!

Although steps 6 to 9 are optional, we strongly encourage you to include as much information as you can. Doing so enhances the experience for others and contributes to a more enjoyable route overall.
In France, steps 6 to 9 are mandatory because editorial guidelines are more complex.
If you still have questions, you can ask for help on the Authors' Forum, get in touch via the support form or read this page, which contains recommendations for getting routes published.
