Check a route's Avalanche Risk Assessment Bulletin (BERA)

The BERA is a valuable decision-making tool for mountain enthusiasts, enabling them to adapt their behaviour to snow conditions. It provides details on snow conditions, types of natural and accidental risks, and the location of hazards according to altitude, exposure and time. More specifically, it provides an estimate of avalanche risk using a scale of 1 to 5 on a European scale (where risk 0 does not exist in the mountains). This estimate is given for the entire mountain range, based on an assessment of snowpack stability and the probability of avalanches occurring. The data displayed is based on Météo France.

The BERA is only displayed for routes in France, in areas where this data is relevant, and for users with a Visorando Premium subscription.
